Gajendra Moksha

This painting is from one of the Indian mythology. It is about Gajendra (elephant) praying Lord Vishnu to rescue him when his feet was gripped in the jaws of Crocodile. The Ashwani god with flowers to offer for the lord is eye catching. The lake with lotus, lush greenery are the other features of the pic. This episode conveys to all of us that sincere prayers are always heard by the almighty.

  1. Nice blog. The place where the Gajendra Moksha took place is Kapisthalam near Kumbakonam/Tanjore in Tamilnadu. Here is the link for the details on that temple. http://rajamala.wordpress.com/2010/10/05/gajendravaradhar-temple-kapisthalam/

    keep up the good work
